Day 3: Bathroom Cabinets Before & After

I am not going to lie, this was not a quick project. I have been working all day on this, but I am so excited to post about it! I used a couple of pinterest ideas I have been wanting to try. They were cheap, but NOT quick. I had to take not 1, but 2 trips to Lowes today. I hate going to Lowes. I always feel like a fish out of water there. I should not have worn my pink pants today. I'll just leave it at that.

Our bathroom has been so hard for me to organize for several reasons:
1. We only have cabinets. No drawers. Drawers are easier to use to organize small things like makeup, face products, hair stuff, etc.
2. I am obsessed with all things beauty. Makeup, skincare, hair, nails, etc. Therefore, I have TOO much of all of it.
3. Using the vertical space in the cabinets has been a challenge.
4. I have just kept putting it off!

I think I finally have a system that works now!

I used this and this from pinterest on the doors on my side of the sink to store bobby pins and my most used curling irons (yes, I have 3 most used ones... I know I have problems).

I used command strips to attach everything so it will not leave holes or marks. By the way, if you are going to attempt this, BEG the guy at Lowes to cut the PVC pipes for you. I am still sore. The guy told me they were only allowed to make one cut per pipe and to buy a cheap hacksaw and that it would cut like "butter." LIES. ALL LIES. It was really hard. Clay even helped me and it was hard to get the cuts straight, so mine are very imperfect, but they get the job done. Here's the aftermath in our living room:

I bought a cute wire basket at TJ Maxx for $7 to hold extra rolls of toilet paper and then used my favorite labels to label the bins on Clay's side of the sink (even though it's basically all my stuff, don't worry he has his stuff in the medicine cabinet, which I will post in another post!)

For "my side," I got 3 little bins from Wal-mart to hold hair accessories, used a "lazy susan" my parents gave me a while ago for lotions and a basket I already had for brushes, velcro rollers, my straightener, combs, and my hair dryer.

This was A LOT of work. I'm exhausted. I'm ready to eat some dinner, cuddle with my husband and watch some Desperate Housewives. I'll be back tomorrow with my Fridge organization.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
